Life Events
We are here for you to mark key events in life - to give thanks for the birth of a child, to welcome you into the body of Christ through Baptism, to celebrate your marriage or to commend your loved ones to God at a funeral. Some general information and answers to frequently asked questions are shown below, but please do contact us if you have any questions at all - we are here to help.
Weddings
Congratulations on your engagement! You're welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are christened and whether or not you regularly go to church.

St Mary’s, Kingsclere and St Paul’s, Ashford Hill both make a beautiful venue for a wedding of up to 200 guests. St Peter’s, Headley is perfect for a small, more intimate ceremony.

Anyone who has a connection with the parishes can marry in one of the churches here:
-
Those who live within the parishes
-
Those who have previously lived here for
6 months or more (or whose parents lived here
for 6 months or more) -
Those who have worshipped here for 6 months
or more (or again whose parents worshipped
here for at least 6 months) -
Those whose parents or grandparents were
married here -
Those who were baptised or confirmed here.
-
Those who are on the church electoral roll
If none of the above apply to you then it may still be possible for you to marry in one of our churches by attending worship for at least six months, or applying for a common licence.
Please do contact us in the first instance to discuss your situation – we welcome all enquiries and will do all we can to ensure you have the wedding day you dream of.
